The annual Flamenco Festival London 2017 directed by Miguel Marín, which opened on Wednesday 15 February 2017 with the UK première of Israel Galván’s FLA.CO.MEN, followed by the UK première of Eva Yerbabuena’s Apariencias (Appearances), continues this week with some superb flamenco performers.

The flamenco dancer and choreographer, Mercedes Ruíz with her Compañía Mercedes Ruíz presents the UK première of her latest work Déjame que te baile (Let me Dance for You) and as with all her productions, the music is composed and will be performed by the flamenco guitarist Santiago Lara on Tuesday 21 February 2017 at 7.30pm

On the following evening, Wednesday 22 February 2017, we have the chance to hear the flamenco guitarist Santiago Lara in a completely different role. Having just released his latest recording – a flamenco tribute to the contemporary jazz guitarist Pat Metheny – an experience which he describes as ‘an apprenticeship’ – Santiago Lara presents his Guitarrísimo: Flamenco Tribute to Pat Metheny on Wednesday 22 February 2017 at 8pm.
