Paco de Lucía: La Búsqueda is now screening in Spanish cinemas from today. 

The film begins with Paco de Lucía talking about when he started playing the guitar at the age of 7

and continues with his first encounters with Camarón de la Isla

through to the making of his final recording, Canción Andaluza, which was released posthumously. Apart from the great pleasure of hearing Paco de Lucía speak about his life and work, there are also interviews with Alejandro Sanz, Carles Benavent, Carlos Santana, Chick Corea, Estrella Morente, John McLaughlin, Jorge Pardo, Pepe de Lucía and Rubén Blades.

RTVE Spanish television’s film programme Días de cine features Paco de Lucía: La Búsqueda with interviews of the film-maker Curro Sánchez Varela, Paco de Lucía‘s son as well as excerpts from the documentary film by Ziggurat Films. Curro Sánchez Varela is the Director of the film, the script is by Paco de Lucía‘s daughter Casilda Sánchez Varela and the Producers are Paco de Lucía‘s daughter Lucía Sánchez Varela and Anxo Rodríguez.

La Búsqueda was first screened at the Festival de Cine de San Sebastián on 22 September 2014, where Curro Sánchez spoke about the making of the film.
