It is almost 60 years since the flamenco singer Camarón de la Isla was born (José Monje Cruz, 5 December 1950), so it seems fitting to talk about the film made about his life by Jaime Chávarri called Camarón, la pelicula. Camarón was played by Óscar Jaenada, who won a Goya for the best male actor in 2005. The music for the film was done by Paco de Lucía, who created ground-breaking flamenco in the years when he performed with Camarón.
