coplas, International Guitar Festival Cordoba, London Jazz Festival, Marifé de Triana, Paco de Lucía
Paco de Lucía is on tour again and will be performing in London on Thursday 18 November 2010 at the Royal Festival Hall as part of the London Jazz Festival (12–21 November 2010).
Paco de Lucía has had a heavy touring schedule since the beginning of the year, which is excellent news for his fans of course! Tomorrow, Saturday 24 July 2010, he is performing at the International Guitar Festival in Córdoba, Spain. No need to mention that the tickets were sold out long before the performance date.
Paco de Lucía’s tour dates are very easily accessed now on his official website.
On Tuesday 16 November 2010 he will be performing in Paris at Le Zénith (Paris 75019).
As well as including his touring schedule, Paco de Lucía’s website hosts the foro oficial de Paco de Lucía: it hosts a foro en español and an English forum.
Other Paco de Lucía news is that he is preparing a new recording which is in homage to the singer Marifé de Triana.
On 8 May 2010 he was honoured with the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA. Although he doesn’t like to be interviewed, he did allow Barbara Celis to interview him in Boston and that interview was published in the Spanish newspaper El País with the heading quote “Me encantaría poder vivir sin la Música… con ella sufro mucho“. Although he says he would love to be able to live without music…because it makes him suffer so much, he is a perfectionist, and it is that drive which has made his music special and continues to do so. In that interview he does speak about the incredible feeling that comes over him when he steps onto the stage and he realises he could not give it up.
